301 Mission Street, now known as the Millennium Tower, is a mixed use residential tower project in San Francisco. It is part of the rejuvenation of the south of Market for neighborhoods around the Transbay Terminal and will serve as revenue stream for the future development of that transit hub. This project is a true example of a transit-oriented development within the public transportation system.
The structural system is a post tension slab anchored by a rigid core with lateral support of concrete braces. The exterior wall system is a state of the art four sided structural silicone glazed system. The tower also features several mixes of open space. A public atrium facing Mission Street will contain art and indoor garden spaces. Private balconies and gardens are located on the roof of the central connecting two story base. The streetscape is activated by restaurants and retail. Units range from 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, penthouses and lofts. Both Wing and Darren worked on this project when they were with Ai Architecture and Handel Architects respectively. |
